Levoquin 500 MG Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that contains Levofloxacin. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the lungs, skin and urinary tract (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra). Levoquin 500 MG Tablet is effective against a large number of bacteria.
It cures the infection by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Levoquin 500 MG Tablet can cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Levoquin 500 MG Tablet can cause muscle damage, usually in your ankle. Levoquin 500 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food around the same time every day.
Once you start treatment with Levoquin 500 MG Tablet, it is recommended to finish the entire course to prevent the development of bacterial resistance. Levoquin 500 MG Tablet should be avoided during pregnancy due to the risk of severe side effects on the joints of the developing foetus. Consult your doctor before using Levoquin 500 MG Tablet if you are breastfeeding. Avoid using Levoquin 500 MG Tablet if you have kidney, liver problems as it can worsen your condition.
